LEO Battery and Charging Technology

  • LEO batteries last 12 to 16 hours
  • Lithium technology for longevity
  • Three charging options available

Which battery technology is used?

BITO relies on lithium batteries (LiFePO4)

The selected battery technology is characterised by high energy density, thermal and chemical stability and long life. Compared to lithium-ion batteries, the significantly higher fire safety is particularly noteworthy.

In addition, the lithium iron phosphate battery can be stored for longer periods without intermediate charging. This makes it easier to stock spare parts and reduces the likelihood of deep discharge.

Compared to conventional lead-acid technology, the many times greater lifetime performance outweighs the initial extra cost, resulting in a much better price/performance ratio.

Battery spefifications

  • 24V/20Ah
  • 12-16h mileage
  • 1,000 to 5,000 charge cycles

LEO Charging Technology

The BITO LEO AGV system can be charged in three different ways

Battery replacement

The most efficient charging technique for the system is manual battery replacement. This involves removing the battery from the vehicle and replacing it with a freshly charged battery. The battery is then charged for 4-6 hours on the charger.

The vehicle is ready for use within minutes, resulting in high efficiency.

Plug-in charging

For daily use of 12-16 hours, direct charging of the transporter is recommended. The charger is connected directly to the LEO transporter's charging socket.

After 4-6 hours the vehicle is ready for use again.

Automatic charging

Ideal for 24-hour applications where an automated process is required.

This optional retrofit system allows the lithium batteries to be charged automatically. The LEO Transporter is equipped with a charging skid. After 120 to 180 minutes, a separate charger is started and charges for approximately 30 minutes.
